rotary joints
Maier America exists to turn our clients problems into solutions

Toray Plastics

Toray Plastics is a manufacturer of polyethylene and polypropylene plastic material for food packaging, automotive, UV protection, and labeling.
Toray plastics has two lines at their facility in North Kingston, RI. One of their lines was experiencing problems with a competitors rotary joint. The competitor’s model was not performing well.

Toray then tried different competitor, which lasted for 15 years. However, recently, the competitor’s rotary joint started to fail. The snap rings attached at the rotor would break off and the pressure would blow the grease out of the bearing. When they contacted the competitor, they received no support.
Toray then contacted Maier America

Factors to be considered:

There are three rolls that are not motor driven. Second, it will be difficult to mount the anti-rotation device on the machine near certain rolls. The water content is below standards

The Maier Solution:

We originally thought the HW 240 L/R-700 and HW 250 L/R-700, however; due to the low water quality, we decided the M 240 R/L-75; M250 R/L-75 rotary joints would be a better fit.

The rotary joints are operating properly.
